I love this stuff! Originally I made it to go over mini apple pie cookies, but we soon discovered we loved it on all kinds of things from ice cream to pancakes or toast!
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup half & half
- 1 tbsp. butter
- pinch salt
- 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
Mix all ingredients except vanilla extract in a saucepan over medium low heat.
Cook while whisking until mixture begins to thicken (5 - 10 minutes).
Add vanilla and continue to cook for 1 minute.
Pour into hot sterile jar. (Jar should be hot to avoid cracking).
Allow to cool. Cover with lid and keep in fridge.
