Santana Joy
I personally know this family and this bubbly little girl. I am posting this in hopes of helping them through this time. Please share. Thank you!
The following is taken directly from Santana’s GoFundMe page:
Santana is a Happy 9 Month Old Baby Girl who was Born with Down Syndrome on April 14/14.
She was also born with 2 holes in her heart one of which was very large and she was supposed to have heart surgery but as she grew her heart started to heal on its own which was a miracle since it was a very large hole.
Since then Santana has had cataracts in her eyes and underwent surgery to remove them at the age of 3 months and now wears Contacts and Glasses.
While we were in Vancouver Childrens having her stitches removed from her eyes at 9 months she also had routine Blood work. They found low white blood cells and low platelets, which made them very concerned.
Further tests were taken, and they found leukemia cells.
Tests came back positive for MDS leukemia on Jan 26 th 2015.
Santana is now staying in Vancouver Childrens Hospital for 6-8 months and is undergoing chemotherapy.
As we can not return home the family was not prepared for this and can not leave the Hospital or Santanas bedside to tend to the home or pets.
Santana is the little Sister to her 5 siblings, this is going to be really hard time financially as well as being 6-7 hrs away from home and family and friends for 6-8 months.
Donations are being collected to help during Cancer Treatments and while Santanas is in the recovering state and to ensure her a great future for all of her needs.

Upon discovering GoFundMe deducts 10% upon withdrawal, Santanas’ mother requests donations be made directly either online or in person at CIBC.
